Warfare is being reinvented. Like a scene out of The Terminator, the future of warfare is destined to include robot soldiers, unmanned aerial assault, and self-driving, weaponized vehicles. An $11 million contract approved by the Pentagon has been awarded to Six3 Advanced Systems.
The US Department of Defense is calling on Six3 to “design, develop, and validate system prototypes for a combined-arms squad.” By the year 2025, experts predict that the U.S. military will have more robot soldiers than humans. Read Prophecy News Watch article
In the article, John Bassett, a former British intelligence officer told how the intelligent robotic weapons were “a reality, and they will be much more of a reality by 2030.” The alarming part is that these 200,000 dollar weaponized robots will be able to can search out humans and kill them up with a range of up to 2 miles. The article concluded by saying that these weaponized robots will lead “to a new precedent in how wars are fought.” Then the question becomes, how will armies defend themselves against an invasion of robots in the future?
The Bible predicts such and invasion against Israel in the last days. Joel warns of an approaching army that will make the inhabitants of the land “tremble” as the awesome Day of the Lord comes (Joel 2:1). Joel describes what sounds like a fierce mechanized army that devours everything before and behind them. The people’s faces will be “much pained” before them.
The prophet describes that the army “run like mighty men,” “climb like men of war,” “shall march and not break their ranks, they shall fall on the sword and “not be wounded” (Joel 2:7-8). If that’s not scary, this mighty army will run throughout the city, run on the walls, climb upon houses, and enter into windows like thieves (Joel 2:9).
Although destruction looks immanent, the Lord now calls to his people to “turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God” for the he is gracious and merciful (Joel 2:12-13).
Then the most beautiful thing happens. Joel says,
“Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people. Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen: But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things” (Joel 2:18-20).
The Lord Himself will drive this fierce army from the north into a barren and desolate land and to his ruin. Then the Lord will pour out a time of peace and prosperity on his people like has never been seen in the Millennial Kingdom. As believers, we should not be alarmed of this fierce army of robots. Their preparation is just another sign that the great and awesome day of the Lord in the end of days rapidly approaches!
