President Barack Obama’s administration has paid Iran more than $10 billion in gold, cash, and assets since 2013, Iranian officials said in reports translated by The Washington Free Beacon.
Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi confirmed a Wall Street Journal report that detailed the $10 billion, but said that number is a “stingy” estimate. “I will not speak about the precise amount,” he said.
“This report is true but the value is higher,” the translation read. “After the Geneva conference and the resulting agreement, it was decided that $700 million were to be dispensed per month … in addition to the cash funds which we received, we received our deliveries in gold, bullion, and other things,” he said.
Behnam Ben Taleblu, a research analyst at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said the officials’ claims could be true. Read NewsMax article
The deal, hailed by President Obama and Secretary Kerry, cost the tax payers a whole lot of cash! But the interesting thing is that Iran doesn’t take U.S. cash, they received their in “deliveries in gold, bullion, and other things,” according to the article. Even if the president’s assessment is right and this deal does buy us 10 years of peace by delaying Iran’s feverish quest for a nuclear bomb, why did he have to pay them so much for such a deal? The other sad thing about how our money is being used from the so called “deal” is that the article reports that “Iran spent some of the money on ‘destabilizing regional activities.’”
On a much larger scale, I think the deal guarantees that Iran will be present in the Gog Magog War of Ezekiel 38. As for the nations involved in that great war, the jury is still out as to who the “enemy of the north” is. Some scholars are sure that it is Russia. Still others offer compelling evidence that it is Turkey. Some say that we can’t know for sure based on the ancient names used in the text. But there is one name that all scholars agree on, and this is Persia (modern Iran).
