Serious Rift Developing Between U.S. and Israel
The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs asserted that Israel and the
United States could face a serious crisis in their relations that would
affect their response to a nuclear Iran. In a report by former
Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Dore Gold, the center said the
tensions between Jerusalem and Washington could lead
to a much deeper rift later in 2010 when the administration of President
Barack Obama was expected to release a Middle East peace plan.
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Gen. 12:3
We must pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Ps. 122:6), and also pray for our leaders so that they would understand the ramifications of not blessing Israel. This was a major concern of mine in the recent presidential election, the candidate's stance on Israel. From the verse above, I am convinced that being a true ally with Israel is a vital part of our national security and should be priority in our foreign policy. I never was quite sure of President Obama's or Mrs. Clinton's stance on Israel. On the other hand, I thought that former President Bush's and Ms. Rice's stance was pro-Israel. If you remember, Rice pushed for a divided Jerusalem too, and Mr. Bush's Road Map to Peace was not well received by Israel either.
Back in 2005 as Katrina was approaching the gulf coast, The Golden Report posted a blistering report against Bush's policies in Israel and predicted that the US had brought on the judgment of God by our actions there. The report was titled, God will not be mocked and His Word will come to pass.
We are told in God’s Word that the pattern of the governments of the world in the last days will be against Israel, no matter what political party is in office. We are rapidly approaching a day when all nations will turn against Israel. Recently some popular end-time movies had portrayed the U.S. as standing with Israel in the all out war of the nations against Israel. I am not convinced that this will be the case according to the Bible.
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zech. 12:3 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Zech. 14:2 Both verses above indicate that all nations in that day while turn against Israel. The real question of many has been not whether we would be against Israel, but rather would we as a nation be in existence at that time? I don't know the answer to that one, but if we are still around, it is clear that we will follow the course of this world. That course sadly is not one of blessing Israel, but instead one of cursing her. The nation that chooses this path will be 'cut in pieces' when The Lord of lords comes down to earth and defends Israel during the great and terrible Day of the Lord (2 Thes. 2:8). Let us pray for the peace of Jerusalem and our leaders!
Lord put a Watch Before my Mouth!
"Stop oppressing the helpless and stop making false accusations and spreading vicious rumors! Feed the hungry and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as day. Is 58:9, 10 NLT
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Ps 141:3 KJV
Again, God is telling us to feed the hungry and help those in trouble! Also, He says again not to oppress the helpless. We have dealt with that on previous days, but let us get this message about our mouths today! Stop making false accusations and spreading rumors!
I was cautioned some time ago while watching a clip of when Mr. O’Reilly was on Dave Letterman’s show. Whether you like Bill O’Reilly or not, you have to agree that he is very factual. It was apparent from Letterman’s audience, as he proceeded to speak anti-Bush and anti-war accusations, that you can easily get big cheers when you bash the president these days. Mr. Letterman said, “I am not smart enough to debate you point for point on this stuff, but I convinced that 60% of the stuff that you talk about on your show is crap.” Mr. O’Reilly asked him did he watch the show, and Mr. Letterman said that he never watched the show. I thought my how often we criticize our leaders and falsely accuse them when it is not even based on the facts. At least Mr. O’Reilly sought to find the facts and accurate sources to base his reports for the president and the war, but I can’t really say what Mr. Letterman’s accusations were based on except opinions or hear say. Pray for our leaders as the scripture instructs; let’s not criticize them.
When dealing with sensitive issues, get the facts straight. If someone brings a report of a fallen brother or sister, ask them did they see them do this thing? Ask them who their sources are. Don’t spread news based on hear say; get the facts straight. Better yet, let’s do what the word says and pray, not gossip.
Pray today for your church leaders today. No one is ever going to like every decision that your leaders make, but are you praying that God would give them guidance, or are you just flapping your jaws about your opinion? Let’s pray today that God would put a watch before our tongues, so that we wouldn’t be a part of spreading vicious rumors, making false accusations, and gossip. Pray with me today that God would increase our prayer life which in turn will automatically reduce gossip and idle talk.
Today's Prayer Point: God, put a watch before my tongue this year and increase my prayer life for others.
The Solitary Reversal
God setteth the solitary in families, He bringeth out those who are bound with chains; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Psalms 68:6
Ever seemed as if you were the only one serving God in your family? Maybe you can think back to a time when you were the only one saved in your family, or maybe you are in that situation right now! Well, have no fear; it is all according to God’s plan. He saved you first so you could be “the solitary in your family” and BRING OUT those who are bound with chains in your family! Who are those who are bournd? Those are the ones who don’t know Jesus as Lord and Saviour; they are bound in sin!
I am writing this to you so that you can be encouraged and avoid ‘the solitary reversal.” You may say what in the world is that? Well that is when God has their chains in your hand to lead them to freedom and you aien’t pulling them — they are NOW PULLING YOU! Oh, this is not optional; you have an assignment from God.
Paul and Silas answered the jailer’s question, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:31
God works on the family plan! He has no intentions to leave your family out! God sent the rescue team for Lot’s whole family just like he did Noah’s, but you know what happened with Mrs. Lot! She decided to PAUSE and STAY AWHILE in sin! Well this plan is wonderful for those who realize that they are ‘the solitary in the family”, but what about the one who is SLACKIN?
I remember once when I was slackin, having a good time in Jesus and only praying about me and my needs. All of a sudden I got blind-sided by the worst case of flu that I had experience in quite sometime! I was hurting so that I got real plyable in The Potter’s hand. After quiet a long night of aching and seeking God, the Lord told me, “You have got to start praying for your family”. He showed me how to pray for each of them one at a time till I finished the whole list. After I got past the first one on my list that same night, I felt sickness’ grip break off of me and I started getting better! Praise His Name!
Start praying now for your loved ones and pull them out of bondage! Oral Roberts once described prayer as a rope that you throw out to those that are perishing. Stop letting them pull you back! Family ties are VERY STRONG, but GREATER is HE THAT is IN YOU than he that is in the WORLD!
Prayerlessness
Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one! Will those who do evil never learn? They eat up my people like bread and wouldn’t think of praying to God. Psalms 53:1-4 NLT
I heard Joyce Meyers say, If there is strength in unity, then it stands to reason that we are powerless when we don’t have it. She also said that she believes that demons are assigned to bring strife and disunity in families, organizations, churches, etc. Well, the devil is not stupid. It wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that that is where you get the most bang-for-the-buck, in causing disunity. The devil would rather chance having 1000 of his demons put to flight than 10,000, for that is what happens every time we come together – we are 10 times stronger!! In case you missed that, when 2 come together we can put 10,000, 3 can put 100,000, 4 can put 1,000,000 demons to flight! We could keep going, but you get the point!
There is a stronger man than division in the enemy’s pecking order! I always thought that if a house divided could not stand, then division was the top of the pecking order in Satan’s kingdom. Proverbs 16:28 says, A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends. Well, if GOSSIP can SEPARATE, then PRAYER can re-unite or restore relationships! From this verse we could also say that a family that prays together – stays together. We know that gossip is the opposite of prayer. Actually, gossip is intercession for the devil! Did you know that when you are gossiping about one of your church members that you are being used by the devil to carry out his will in the earth? If God was looking for an intercessor throughout the Bible (see Ez. 22:30), then don’t you think the devil is looking for one too? So PRAYERLESSNESS is a stronger man than DIVISION.
We have to come against the strongman of prayerlessness on this fast, and we have to KEEP HIM OUT by praying together and lifting one another up in our individual prayer times as well. Let’s join together and put that strongman to flight today in the mighty Name of Jesus!
